JAMB UTME 2010 Online e-registration results UME MPCE

Online registration is ongoing for the 2010 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME organized by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB in Nigeria. The new e-registration portal for the JAMB UTME is better and easier to use. If you plan seating for JAMB UTME in 2010, you should start e-registration as soon as possible as registration for UTME closes on January 29, 2010. So, hurry now to avoid eleventh hour rush. Note that JAMB UTME examination date is April 17, 2010.

To access the JAMB UTME portal for e-registration, you need a scratch card sold for N4,600 at leading banks and JAMB offices through out Nigeria. Registering for JAMB UTME 2010

Once you buy your UTME scratch card, the next thing to do is to visit the JAMB UTME e-registration portal. Click on the New user button and the signup form will appear with two fields labeled Enter serial number and Enter PIN. Look for this two piece of information on your UTME scratch card and enter as reqiured. Observe that the Enter Serial number instructs you to enter numbers only. Click on Sigup. If validation of your JAMB UTME scratch card is successful you will then move to the next stage, which is creating your JAMB UTME account.

To create your JAMB UTME account, you will have to choose a unique username and a password. This, you will use for logging into your data area on the UTME portal. Once your account is created, you need your username and password to access the site for your registration. To login click on the Registered User button and the login form will appear. Once you have your JAMB UTME account, you now start your registration.

Registration for JAMB UTME is very simple, especially if you have some basic computer skills. If you are already browsing the internet using tools like Yahoo mail, gmail, or Facebook, then registering for JAMB UTME is a piece of cake. However, if you are not computer literate it may be quite challenging. But that does not mean you should give it out to a consultant to do for you. The fact is that you can register for JAMB UTME yourself.

Registering for UTME online may be a great opportunity to become computer literate, so don't miss it. If you must give out your UTME registration to another person, use a friend that is computer literate and learn from him/her.

Registering yourself for JAMB UTME may also be challenging because of slow internet connections at cyber cafes. Some cyber cafes even block JAMB UTME e-registration portal so that you pay them for your UTME registration. In such a situation, you are advised to either look for a cyber cafe that does not offer JAMB UTME services or pay a cyber cafe to have it done for you. If you have your own internet connection, you can always access the JAMB UTME portal especially on Sundays when traffic is minimal.

Before registering for JAMB UTME, make sure you have your information ready. It is advisable to download the UTME form template, print a hard copy and fill, then go online and fill the online UTME registration form. You should also have an electronic copy of your passport photo ready. Make sure the photo is of the right size and not more than 15 kilobyte. Test the validity of your passport using the facility provided in the JAMB UTME portal. If your passport is flagged, resize it using Microsoft photo editor. Note that the picture must also be in jpeg format.
What is JAMB UTME?

JAMB is the body established by law to conduct matriculation examinations into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. JAMB used to conduct two matriculation examinations in Nigeria, the UME a Univervisity matriculation examination, and the MPCE a matriculation examination targeted at Monotechnics, Polytechnics, and Colleges of education.

Starting from 2010, JAMB will conduct only one examination. The UME and MPCE will be replaced by the UTME, which is a matriculation examination for admission into tertiary institutions.
